Chess -- Caxton's "The Game and Playe of the Chesse"

Sources: Caxton
This is a lovely transcription of an important and not-easy-to-read book on Chess.
One of the very first books published in English, this actually isn't much about how to play Chess. Instead, it uses Chess as an in-depth metaphor for the proper arrangement of society, going through each piece and describing what it represents. So not much use for reconstruction, but a historically important source.
